If I’m right, the music for that fight is gonna be incredible, given how awesome her music has been so far. Seriously, can you just imagine Undyne’s motif (Hammer of Justice) mixed in with Rude Buster/Ruder Buster, Susie/Vs. Susie, Gerson’s motif…NGAHHH! I’m so excited!
…I’d say, “maybe I shouldn’t get my hopes up,” but let’s be real: the music’s going to blow me away no matter how the plot turns out. I was sceptical when the OST for Chapter 1 came out–it seemed kinda weak compared to Undertale’s–but now that more chapters have been released (and I’ve actually started playing the game), I’m seeing some of the stuff I thought was weak or underdeveloped being used as strong foundations for some really killer music.
I’m not sure if that was deliberate at the time? The whole first chapter (and a few parts of the second) gave me the impression of a talented and successful creator working to recover from burnout while under a tremendous amount of pressure–y’know, the typical “sophomore album” curse. Honestly, the fact that Chapter 1 turned out as good as it did in spite of all that is a real testament to Toby’s…well, determination, I guess!
Toby Fox = most clutch game developer EVER???
